Alaa Badr is Vice President for Customer Success at Intel for Software and SaaS services leading initiative around AI as a Service, Confidential Computing, and cloud optimization. Prior to Intel he Vice President of Customer Experience at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure driving adoption of OCI and migration to cloud, end to end professional services/support project success, and defining new capabilities around engineering roadmaps.

Prior to Oracle, he was GM Azure Data/AI – growing adoption of SQL Azure & Microsoft predictive analytics through Synapse, by formalization of common GTMs with key SI’s and owning end to end adoption of our global top 200 customers including Walmart, Citi, HomeDepot, and Pearson.

Alaa was also Vice President of Cloud Computing at VMware led a team that helps define future product strategy (VMConAWS), architect solutions, and migrate customers to Cloud Applications. He has extensive experience in managing and deploying infrastructure at scale, both virtualized and in the cloud, and in bridging the gap between on premise and cloud applications.

At Amazon Web Services where he led the engineering efforts for customer deployment and roadmap development efforts around Amazon Workspaces, Workdocs, Windows Application Manager and WorkMail. Prior to his career at Amazon, he was Senior Director for Windows Devices and Applications (wrapped in Azure), working for Microsoft.

Mr. Badr has also done various international assignment in the Middle East, France, Canada, Japan and Russia leading global teams. In his prior life, he had his own start-up, developed mobile device management technology, and worked for Australian SI’s. He is originally from Egypt, speaks multiple languages, and works in  lives in Seattle WA with his wife and 3 girls.
